Liam Scarlett’s new ballet, scheduled to share a programme with Cathy Marston’s The Cellist, has been postponed to a later date. It will be replaced by Jerome Robbins’ Dances at a Gathering, which was last performed by the Company in 2009.
Later in the season, George Balanchine’s Prodigal Son completes the programme alongside Live Fire Exercise and Corybantic Games. Created originally for Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes to music by Prokofiev, it was last performed by the Company in 2004.
Due to last minute changes in Alexei Ratmansky’s commitments with ABT, the performance of Preludes, scheduled for June 2020, will be replaced by Frederick Ashton’s Monotones I and II. Completing the Triple Bill will be Liam Scarlett’s Symphonic Dances and David Bintley’s Tombeaux.
